Friends of Joshua House Foundation can RESTORE JOSHUA HOUSE with your support.
We need your support!
Built in 1990, Joshua House was created to provide a home for our Tampa Bay foster children. With the overwhelming support of our community, our Joshua House Founders were able to create a vibrant, family like neighborhood of homes that has served the therapeutic and residential needs of abused, abandoned, and neglected children for almost 30 years.
Friends of Joshua House Foundation (FOJH) was also created by the Joshua House Founders to support the children served and to continue their legacy ~ Joshua House.
After a nearly 30-year partnership resulting in many great achievements, Children’s Home Society of Florida and Friends of Joshua House Foundation each look forward to continuing to serve children throughout the Tampa Bay community, albeit in different capacities.
Children’s Home Society of Florida has sold the Joshua House property to Friends of Joshua House Foundation so both organizations can continue their respective missions. Friends of Joshua House Foundation will re-open Joshua House to provide enriching residential care for abused, abandoned, and neglected youth in foster care.
Lifting Joshua House from an uncertain future and restoring these much-needed services to our community is no easy feat. Our mission to provide compassionate homes with therapeutic services and safe beds for vulnerable children will need an outpouring of love and support to achieve success. Will you join us in the next phase of Restoring Joshua House?
How You Can Help DONATE to the Restore Joshua House Capital Campaign. GOAL $3,435,000
to donate a restricted gift towards restoring Joshua House. We're aiming to earn an estimated $3.4 million in the Bricks & Mortar Campaign to cover the following expenses:
- Purchase the 11-acre property with 5 homes and supporting buildings at $2.625 million.
- Renovate 4 homes to restore a home-like, nurturing environment at $430,000.
- Enrich and restore programmatic services. There are startup costs to every business, but the business of caring for children will be worth the investment. We have classrooms, learning centers, library, offices, activity rooms, therapy center, and safe vehicles that need to be restored before we open the doors. We estimate $380,000 is needed.
- Open Joshua House. Our fundraising goal is lofty, but we can move in phases to assure that we can start helping children as quickly as possible. August 2020 is the closing on the property. We hope to have three homes operating by the end of 2020, providing beds for 29 children. By June 2021, we will have all five homes operating and all therapeutic services re-instated. The sky is the limit if you support now.
This is a multi-year campaign with multiple options of giving. Whether you can do a onetime gift, a recurring monthly pledge, a multi-year pledge, a gift of stocks or a planned giving gift. You can help assure that Joshua House remains in service to our community for decades to come.
